Traveldoo gets PCI DSS certification.

With the level 1 PCI DSS certification, Traveldoo has achieved the highest data security level for the services providers recognized by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) and thus guarantees its customers maximum security level for their credit cards data.

Paris, France, 12 July 2011 – Traveldoo, the provider of online business travel services platforms, today announced it has been recently certified PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), an information security standard for organizations that handle cardholder information for the major debit, credit, prepaid, e-purse, ATM, and POS cards. It is a guide of 12 regulations that help companies issuing credit cards to protect their data and prevent fraud. Obtaining PCI DSS certification requires the compliance of company’s softwares and infrastructure with more than 200 safety requirements related primarily to the security of information systems, applications development and management process and means of data retention.

This certification follows an on-site audit conducted at Traveldoo by a third-party operator, certified and authorized by the PCI Security Standards Council.

The PCI DSS norm is managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, an organization that has been founded by the main players of credit cards sector (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover Financial Services and JCB) and applies to the customers of these credit cards companies, i.e. both traders managing transactions, especially e-commerce players, but also hosts of payment systems, including banks.
